I Don't Eat At All
So. I'm on The Master Cleanser.
No food for (at least) 10 days.
I drink 6-12 glasses a day of:
a particular maple syrup,
fresh lemon juice,
and cayenne pepper
with water.
At night I drink an herbal laxative tea.
In the morning I do a sea salt water flush.
I'm on day 4. The only thing really bothering me about not eating/drinking is the monotony. I realized I spend a lot of my time trying to think up what to eat next! True to Mr. Burroughs' claims, I'm not at all hungry. Today, for the first day, I'm actually feeling like I have energy! I may even do some yoga!
The philosophy is that the balanced cleansing juice is enough to keep your body going, and because you're not digesting anything unnatural or any food, your body is free to get rid of all the toxins and built up nasty stuff in your colon and everything. The juice, of course, encourages the body to do this. (And the tea and saltwater don't hurt!)
I'm still toxic. My tongue has turned white-ish. I'm told that I'm truly done when my tongue turns pink and healthy. Maybe I'll hang on till then; maybe just until the 10 days are up. I kinda felt like the first day didn't count because my body was really only getting rid of what it had eaten the day before.
Seriously, though, I'm starting to feel good. I can't believe how much stuff builds up in the body. I mean, this is day 4 and around 4am I had yet another. . .um. . .movement. Of like, black stuff. Who knows how long that's been in my body?
Creepy.
I'm doing this cleanse because everyone from my work does it and I
1. want to see what's it's like
2. want to quit drinking for a little bit and give the liver a rest
3. want to lose a couple pounds
4. want to experience what it feels like to be toxin-free
5. want to spend some time thinking about my health
So far, it's fine. I hope there will be grand rewards at the end. It's not the most comfortable way to live.
